WHO WE ARE
IRIS is an automated (remotely controlled) prototype thermographic system for verifying the structural integrity of advanced aerospace composite materials.
The system allows for in-situ investigations during the manufacturing process and component inspection, with the aim of minimizing manufacturing waste and optimizing component quality and performance.
It has been developed/validated for Automated Fiber Placement (AFP), one of the most cutting-edge processes in the advanced aerospace materials sector.
The project is being implemented through effective collaboration between the partners Diagnostic Engineering Solutions Srl (DES), Novotech Aerospace Advanced Technology Srl (Novotech), and Procmatech Srl, independent companies that have contributed, each in their own areas of expertise, to the development of IRIS.
