SCIENTIFIC CONSULTING

POLYTECHNIC OF BARI
The Machine Construction group at PoliBa boasts 25 years of experience in the mechanical characterization of materials using thermographic techniques and in the use of thermography for non-destructive testing and process monitoring.
The main objective of the IRIS project was to develop customized diagnostic techniques that could qualitatively and quantitatively assess the structural integrity of materials by analyzing the stresses of components and structures using the TSA technique.
This will also have a positive impact on stakeholders, who will benefit from product specifications complete with information about the integrity of the component.

UNIVERSITY OF SALENTO

The Machine Construction group has expertise in the design and testing of machinery, structures, and mechanical systems. The group also boasts experience in experimental mechanics, using NDT testing methodologies and product reliability testing. This expertise also extends to advanced numerical computation, a cornerstone of regional economic development.
As part of the IRIS project, Unisalento provided Procmatech and Novotech with its expertise in the fatigue characterization of coupons and demonstrators, the application of ultrasonic techniques for defect detection, and techniques based on electrical resistance variations for damage analysis. Furthermore, it provided mechanical design support for the conceptual design of the IRIS system and the execution of preliminary calculations.
Companies will be able to benefit from implementable methodologies, not only for the purposes of the project, but also for other future case studies, and this will have a positive impact on the marketing or installation of both mechanical systems and materials.
